In Europe there are over 3,000 Renewable Energy Co-ops with over 1.5 million members who share ownership in community energy projects. Join us in-store for a screening of Patagonia Films' "We The Power", which will provide some background on this movement.
After the film we will be sharing information about shared ownership community projects in BC including two new projects that will come online this summer. Come out to learn more about how you can get involved in these projects and help promote future projects.
We’ll have drinks from Persephone Brewing and Nonny beer, along with a few door prizes. All proceeds from the night will go to SPEC (Society Promoting Environmental Conservation).

Imagine upending the traditional energy system and giving the power of clean electricity production back to your neighbors. We the Power follows friends, families and visionaries as they break down legislative barriers and take power back from big energy companies to put in the hands of locals. The film chronicles local cooperatives from deep in Germany’s Black Forest to the streets of ancient Girona in Spain and the urban rooftops of London, England, as they pave the way for a renewable-energy revolution and build healthier, more financially stable communities.
